“The Land of Nod” Wins Award at 49th World-Fest Houston International Film Festival
The Land of Nod, directed by Joshua Dylan Mellars, has won a Remi Award at the 49th World-Fest Houston International Film Festival. Sofia Englund and Mellars produced the short, inspired by the classic Robert Louis Stevenson poem.
Veteran actor Mark Cohen narrates and plays the part of “the older man” in The Land of Nod. Young Portuguese actor Afonso Pereira makes his screen acting debut in the role of “the boy.” Renowned classical guitarist George Sakellariou performs the soundtrack which so beautifully accompanies this cinematic interpretation of Stevenson’s classic children’s poem.
“Founded in 1961, WorldFest gave very first honors to Spielberg, Lucas, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, The Coen Brothers, John Lee Hancock, David Lynch, Randall Kleiser and Brian de Palma…”
