“Saving Heirlooms” Airs on PBS in the San Francisco Bay Area
Saving Heirlooms, produced by Joshua Dylan Mellars for PBS station KRCB, airs Monday, June 27 at 7:30 PM.
Bay Area Bountiful travels to Petaluma’s Seed Bank, one of an increasing number of providers of heirloom seeds for gardeners. From Petaluma, the program travels on to Point Reyes, where beekeeper Kevin Forrester builds eco-friendly hives, and then finally to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway which stores an extensive collection of plant seed samples representing the world’s crop diversity.
